The Ruru pair that have nested on my property for the past few Years have returned and are in the process of raising two young Owlets. There were three eggs at one point but it looks like one of them got broken somehow so only two emerged. But those two are doing well and now at three weeks old have their eyes open, are fluffing up nicely and exploring more and more while the parent hunt of a night. I've managed to get a livestream going almost continuously which has been great, but the uptake is always sketchy. You can't beat walking around in the fields and by the rivers and hearing the constant happy tune of the Skylark as they rise and fall in the air.
